Welcome to www.onlinejazzimprovisation.com!
07.22.08 | David Stacey Hi Trent,
Are you taking on any more online students at the moment?
I ask because I've seen your notes on TPIN and you seem really amazingly busy. (That Markus Stockhausen concert must have been amazing. Beautiful stream....]
Thanks,
Dave

01.21.08 | Neil Delson I wanted to share a few thoughts about my experience with Trent and the online lessons.
Technology is a crazy thing and this has been one of the coolest lesson experiences I have had. After listening to just a few recorded samples, Trent was able to address my playing issues very personally. This was not a cookie-cutter lesson scenario. It was very clear that the exercises and recordings provided to me were specifically for me. Trent has been able to focus on necessary areas for improvement while still staying entirely positive. We both feel that I have made noticeable progress in a very short amount of time.
I have just my second batch of clips for my second lesson and I’m eagerly awaiting Trent’s feedback. Overall, this has been a very affordable, convenient, and positive experience. I would recommend it to anyone interested in improving their jazz playing.
Neil
12.29.07 | Mark Prather Trent,
I'd like to take a lesson (or at least two). What email address do I make my Payment payment to? As to the questionaire: it is not accepting my input. Should I just send you an e-mail with the questionaire information? It it's okay, I plan to submit my samples via an e-mail attachment. I made them on GarageBand with Aebersold play-alongs and converted them to mp3s. Since there are two, should I attach them to separate e-mails in case they happen to be too big? I'm eager to get started, and can;'t wait to see what you have to say. Happy New Year!

12.20.07 | Bill hello again, I am a comeback player and went through an embouchure change and doing very well. played for 20 yrs. in school and college. what improv tools do you have and how hard is it to play the way you do and how can I learn ? Thanks Bill
12.20.07 | Bill Hello Trent, Heard you play on video wow goose bumps! Very talented! How do go up and down the scale and stay in same key and how long for fingering to get this? Was that all improv ? and how can I learn that? Thanks and happy holidays Bill
12.15.07 | Stephen Hey Trent,
This site is an absolutely wonderful idea! I'm very excited about this endeavour.
I have two questions. I have no improv skills as of yet due to the fact that I have been learning to play the for just 2+ years now. So I am wondering will I be albe to receive basic fundemental lessons at this site? I can discribe my skill level to you if needed. Secondly what and how do I go about recording the audios file necessary to participate on this website? I have plans to purchase a Zoom H2 this Christmas or shortly afterwards. What else will I need?
I emailed some time ago asking you about online lessons and this is a greaat answer. Thanks.
One more question, is there a required minunm number of lesson or can one sign up for one at a time ?
Thanks againfor this great resource and I look forwarded to hearing from soon.
P.S. I brought Trumpet 101 cd last year and I love it.
12.14.07 | Michael Fox Hi Trent,
I'm a TPIN member and have checked out your website/audio clips. I like your playing.
I'm a reasonably experienced improviser, but I need help understanding some of the reharmonization (especially modal type) and help with expanding my ears to hear more "outside" harmonies over standard tunes, 70's - 2000's compositions, etc. Can you help with this?
Michael
12.11.07 | howard norsetter I couldn't find the cost of your lessons on the website. How much do you charge?
12.10.07 | Dave Stacey Your lessons sound interesting, but how "advanced" do you have to be? And what do they cost?
I'm a late in life trumpet player who would love to learn to improvise before I die. But I'm also an extremely busy
English professor. I started playing at 36 years of age, and am now 52. I can manage some practicing ,and I have made some progress over the years, but it's been a challenge. I love the trumpet but it's a hard instrument to play.
Thanks,
Dave

12.07.07 | Neil Delson Trent,
How's it going? We met back at ITG 2006 at the Eclipse booth, I'm not sure if you remember. Anyhow, I was checking around the TH and noticed a link to this site and was interested in signing up for a few lessons!
I didn't see a questionaire on the website or a cost per lesson. Could you give me that info?
I'm currently in the process of messing around with my new digital recorder, so once I figure out how to use the darn thing, I'll try to get some clips together.
I hope all is well with you and best of luck with the new Wedge piece! I, too, have been on the Wedge for about a month now and have had nothing but positive results.
Hope to talk to you soon!
Best,
Neil
